Krusinski Construction Delivers New Center to BrightPath Early Learning and Child Care in South Elgin

October 20, 2025

Oak Brook, Illinois – Krusinski Construction Company (KCC) successfully delivered a 14,446-SF modern daycare center for BrightPath Early Learning and Child Care by transforming the first floor of the Medical and Legal Arts Building in South Elgin, Illinois. The project marked KCC’s first for BrightPath, which is a part of Busy Bees North America, one of North America’s leading childcare providers with more than 240 centers across the U.S. and Canada.

This state-of-the-art learning and development environment boasts a welcoming atmosphere featuring over 13 childcare rooms ranging from infants to Pre-K to toddlers, built with organization and accessibility in mind. The facility also includes a full-service kitchen, pantry, in-unit laundry, staff room and offices.

“We are beyond proud of our new, thoughtfully designed space, created to provide a nurturing and stimulating learning environment to families,” said Jen Callan, Center Director for BrightPath Early Learning and Child Care. “This facility will be the cornerstone of our curriculum, designed to inspire children’s natural curiosity that combines play-based exploration with a strong academic background, and we cannot wait to share all of it with the community of South Elgin.”

The interior renovation included full demolition and a complete reconstruction of the tenant suite to accommodate the childcare and staff room design to enhance BrightPath’s specific needs. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection (MEP/FP) systems were also enhanced to meet the building requirements for the intended space. In addition, the building’s exterior received necessary parking lot improvements and the addition of a new playground on the east side of the building.

Krusinski originally completed the ground-up, two-story Medical and Legal Arts Building in 2007, the facility where BrightPath now resides on the first floor.

“The KR2 team was happy to partner with Krusinski on this project and we appreciate the leadership and dedication they brought to this project,” said Robert Richmond, Manager, KR2, LCC. “We are excited to welcome BrightPath into the Medical and Legal Arts Building.”

Krusinski completed this project for KR2, LCC and BrightPath with support from Colliers Engineering & Design and the Village of South Elgin. Strong communication efforts with the client, design team and partners allowed the tenant improvement to be completed in an active building with tenants occupying the second-floor space.
