Mental Health & Suicide Seminar

September 08, 2025

Talk. Listen. Support.

On World Suicide Prevention Day and during Construction Suicide Prevention Week, we are reminded of the importance of looking out for one another.

Did you know?

  • 134 people die by suicide every day in the U.S. — that’s one every 11 minutes.
  •  In construction, suicide occurs at a rate five times higher than in the general population.
  • Construction is the top occupational group for male suicides.

At Krusinski Construction Company, we believe that conversations around mental health must be ongoing and open. That’s why we started this week with a day-long Mental Health & Suicide Prevention seminar for our KRU, where we learned more about mental health, addiction, the overdose crisis and suicide prevention.

These discussions encourage each of us to:

  • Speak openly without stigma
  • Check in on colleagues and loved ones
  • Know where to turn for support and resources

We extend our gratitude to guest speakers Bill Heffernan and Patricia Favela, along with KRU members Jean Reisner and Rick Drews, for their leadership in guiding these meaningful discussions.

By building community, checking in and offering support, we can make a real difference when it’s needed most.

Together we can save lives.

Call, text or chat 988 if you or someone you know is in a crisis.
