Krusinski Construction completed a new rail spur in DeKalb, IL, providing a major food & beverage client direct service from the Union Pacific Troy Grove main line. The project features 12,053 linear feet of new track, one Union Pacific-approved mainline switch/turnout, one ICC-approved public road crossing and all ballast, ties and signage to comply with AREMA, UPRR, and local regulations.

Site work included grading, drainage improvements and utility coordination to ensure safe and efficient integration with the facility. The new spur’s inclusion of a 2,600 linear foot section of drop and pull track, along with the rail’s direct service into the warehouse facility via an indoor rail dock, enhances the client’s logistics capabilities, reducing costs, improving efficiency, and supporting reliable nationwide distribution.
