This facility was built for Northwestern University. This was the second of eight buildings which are used as storage facilities for each individual book owned by the University. This facility built by Krusinski Construction stores over 1 million books.

A unique aspect of this building is the HVAC unit installed on the second- floor mezzanine. A crane was used to lift the more than 20,000 lb. unit onto the second floor. The HVAC unit is vital in keeping the books from deteriorating over time. The 12,828-SF facility is humidity and temperature controlled due to the archival book storage requirements.
