Krusinski Construction Company has announced a planned transition in its financial leadership as Chief Financial Officer Gary Dupuis prepares to retire in the first quarter of 2027 following more than three decades of service. Colin Laughlin joined the company in August 2026 and will serve alongside Gary as co-Chief Financial Officer during the transition. Upon Gary’s retirement, Colin will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer.
Since joining Krusinski in May 1995, Gary has played an integral role in strengthening the company’s financial foundation, supporting sustainable growth and helping guide the business with an analytical mindset and a deep commitment to its people. In addition to leading the company’s financial strategy and operations, he has overseen important legal, risk-management and industry-partnership responsibilities.
“Gary has helped shape the company we are today,” said Jeff Krusinski, President and CEO. “His thoughtful counsel, financial expertise and commitment to doing what is right for Krusinski have made a lasting impact. We are deeply grateful for everything he has contributed and for the care he continues to bring to this transition.”
“Krusinski Construction Company has been an integral part of my life for more than 30 years. I am grateful to the Krusinski family for the opportunity to work with them all these years and am proud of what we and all the other dedicated team members have built together,” said Gary Dupuis. “I’m happy to welcome Colin to the team and believe he’s a great fit. This thoughtful transition provides all of us at Krusinski an opportunity to work together to ensure a smooth and effective change at CFO that will benefit both our company and our partners.”
Colin Laughlin brings nearly two decades of finance and leadership experience in the construction industry to his role in KCC’s planned CFO succession. Most recently, he served as Director of Finance for a large Chicago-based general contractor, advising ownership and executive leadership and providing financial oversight for complex construction operations.
Throughout his career, Colin has led finance, treasury, accounting and strategic-planning initiatives. His experience includes forecasting, banking relationships, capital planning and operational finance, as well as the use of technology and analytics to support informed business decisions. He holds a degree in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and brings a strong commitment to mentoring, leadership development and team building.
“Colin’s construction-industry experience, financial perspective and people-focused approach to leadership make him a strong addition to the Krusinski team,” said Jeff Krusinski. “Having Gary and Colin work together provides an invaluable opportunity to ensure continuity, transfer institutional knowledge and position the company for its next chapter.”
During the transition, Colin will work closely with Gary and the accounting team to deepen his understanding of Krusinski’s operations, culture and long-standing relationships. He will also continue building relationships with the company’s external partners, including consultants, bankers, bonding agents, insurance brokers and accountants.
“Joining Krusinski during this transition is a tremendous opportunity,” said Colin Laughlin. “Gary has built an exceptional foundation, and I look forward to learning from his experience, working with the team and helping support the company’s continued success.”
Krusinski looks forward to celebrating Gary’s distinguished career and lasting contributions as his retirement approaches.
