Job Summary:

An individual responsible for leading and managing the business development team and client relationship efforts in a variety of market sectors and geographic locations with the ability to close deals.


Job Scope and Essential Functions:

  • Procure new leads; meet annual sales goals, close new business
  • Build and develop a BD team with KPIs and path for growth
  • Manage RFP process for lead opportunities working closely with marketing, pre-construction and operations teams
  • Maintain accurate contact information and detailed client relationship interaction through CRM
  • Participate throughout construction process with clients
  • Work with industry influencers, C-Suite executives and decision makers to acquire business both locally and nationally
  • Create lead generation through business-to-business selling and other technology-based methods to identify potential business prospects
  • Participate in industry-specific associations to identify prospective partners and projects
  • Lead and execute national and regional strategy for our business development efforts to expand existing client relationships as well as acquire new clients

  • Preferred 15+ years of experience working in a collaborative business development role within real estate, architecture, engineering or construction firm with an emphasis on building "trusted advisor" relationships
  • Background as a Business Development or Sales professional with experience in commercial real estate and/or construction
  • Must possess expert level CRM and data management skills, the power of persuasion, and be highly organized
  • Must have network in the greater Chicagoland area and national client contacts


Technology Skills:
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • CRM (Cosential)


Physical Demands:

is capable of driving short and long distances to visit project sites and meet with owners, entertaining owners and prospects throughout the week and before/after typical workday hours.



out of town travel would be expected to be +/- 15% of your time, when it becomes reasonably safe to travel routinely


Working Conditions:

70% out of office and 30% office environment
