March - 2006BRIDGESTONE / FIRESTONE PROJECT COMPLETED Krusinski Construction Company has completed a $7.7 million project for Bridgestone Firestone at 1200 Internationale Parkway in Woodridge, Ill. Krusinski built a 209,120-square-foot expansion to the company’s distribution center, and also a freestanding 7,500-square-foot maintenance facility.
Construction began in June 2005 and crews worked simultaneously on the expansion and the maintenance facility, according to Michael J. Metz, project executive.
Krusinski coordinated the construction schedule around Bridgestone’s daily operations and developed an onsite traffic system to ease congestion. Krusinski also added a 24’x 90’ Niagara automatic truck wash.
“The truck wash equipment allows Bridgestone Firestone to wash a truck in less than seven minutes,” says Shawn C. Morris, senior project superintendent.
Krusinski built Bridgestone’s existing 564,000-square-foot, two-story building in 1997.
Julius Kwasek of Kwasek Architects of Inverness was the project architect.
