TWO CONTRACTS AWARDED TO KCC IN BUFFALO GROVE

Panasonic Factory Solutions of America in Buffalo Grove, Ill has awarded two contracts to Krusinski Construction Company of Oak Brook, Ill.

The first is for an interior renovation of more than 60,000 square feet at 909 Asbury Drive. Krusinski will renovate approximately 30,000 square feet of existing office area to accommodate Panasonic’s space needs. There also will be a 31,000-square-foot warehouse area complete with labs, equipment demonstration areas and training rooms.

The second contract, at 1000 Asbury Drive, is a 36,500-square-foot renovation of an existing office facility into warehouse storage. It will include a 6,000-square-foot carousel room, and a rack storage system throughout the warehouse. The carousel room will have a special sprinkler system with factory mutual-approved ESFR type upright sprinkler heads to meet Panasonic’s insurance requirements.

Both buildings will require extensive mechanical and electrical upgrades, according to Stephen A. Moeller, project manager for Krusinski.

Construction is scheduled to begin the end of June 2005, and Krusinski will work on an accelerated schedule, including overtime and weekends, so Panasonic can occupy the space by September.

Michael J. Metz is the project executive for Krusinski Construction Company and Tim Bereza is the project superintendent. Werner Briske of Deerfield-based Partners In Design is the architect.
