February - 2005KRUSINSKI CONSTRUCTION AND MTI PARTNER ON ST. CHARLES PROJECT Krusinski Construction, Oak Brook, Illinois and MTI Construction, Elgin, Illinois, have begun work on a new $3.96 million facility for St. Charles Community Unit School District No. 303 at 901 S. Peck Road.
MTI has teamed with Krusinski on the 41,314 s.f. transportation, maintenance and grounds facility, which will be situated on approximately 13 acres on the west side of Peck, just south of Rooute 38. Krusinski will be in charge of all field operations and all accounting aspects of the project. MTI will handle all estimating and project management.
The two companies plan to joint venture on other public sector projects in the future, according to J. Andrew Jones, president of MTI.
Construction on the facility began in January, with the transportation portion of the facility to be completed by August, and remaining areas of the facility to be completed by September, according to Michael J. Metz, project executive for Krusinski.
The school district will use the building to perform maintenance on both buses and other school district vehicles. In addition, the building will have offices for school district facilities, maintenance and grounds staff. Parking will be provided for approximately 101 buses and 118 cars. The car parking will be shared wtih the St. Charles Park District after hours on weeknights and weekends for the soccer field areas south of the new facility.
The senior project manager for MTI is Ernest J. Spina. Shawn M. Barry is the senior project superintendent for Krusinski. The project architect is Joel Hestrup or Hestrup & Associates Architects of St. Charles. |
