December - 2007W.S. DARLEY TO BE COMPLETED IN JANUARY Krusinski Construction Company is nearing completion on a 32,500-square-foot interior renovation for W.S. Darley at 325 Spring Lake Drive in Itasca. Construction began in November and will be completed in January, according to Michael J. Metz, vice president.
The project called for Krusinski to redistribute more than 3,000 square feet from the office area to the warehouse. As part of the renovation, the office’s lighting, electrical, mechanical, fire suppression and fire detection systems will be reconfigured. Several offices will also receive windows where there previously were none. In addition, the interior loading dock was demolished and will be replaced with a new, recessed dock. The new loading dock will include two new overhead coiling doors, a dock leveling system, guard rails, improved lighting and new fire suppression and detection systems. A new triple basin with simplex pump will also be added in order accommodate the new dock configuration. The interior will receive new paint on all surfaces.
Jeffrey R. Moecher is the senior project manager and Chuck Onik is the superintendent for Krusinski Construction Company. Dave Eischen of Chicago-based Archideas is the architect.
W.S. Darley is a manufacturer of firefighting equipment, including emergency lights, sirens, rescue tools and pumps among its thousands of products, which can be found in all 50 states and more than 70 countries.
