TWO COMCAST PROJECTS AWARDED

Krusinski Construction Company has received two contracts from Comcast Cable Communications. The contracts call for a new technical operations facility in McCook, Ill., and a warehouse addition and interior build-out for a technical operations and payment center in Elmhurst, Ill.

Located at 8701 W. 50th St, the McCook center, will total 42,726 square feet, including 21,000 square feet of office space and a 21,726-square-foot warehouse. Construction, which began in September, is expected to be completed in March.

The pre-cast and steel structure is located over 4.54 acres will have 24-foot clear heights, one exterior dock door, one drive-in door and parking for 282 cars.

Krusinski will add a 25,580-square-foot warehouse to an existing Comcast facility at 155 W. Industrial Dr. in Elmhurst. The project also calls for an 84,286-square-foot office build out. Located over 9.55 acres, the facility will have three exterior dock doors and one drive-in door, with parking for 529 cars. Construction began in June and will be completed in January.

Joseph R. Krusinski III and John Becker serve as the project manager and project engineer for both projects. Jeffrey Lycan is the superintendent on the Elmhurst center, while Tim Bereza is the superintendent for McCook. Ann Norman of Deerfield-based Partners in Design is the architect for Elmhurst and will also design the interior for the McCook project, with Lisa Aiken of Cornerstone Architects, Ltd., serving as the architect for the facility’s shell. Centerpoint Properties is the developer for Comcast McCook and Avi Nagel of Cook Financial is the developer for Comcast Elmhurst.

Over the last four years, Krusinski has completed 15 projects for Comcast, through its affiliation with Citadel Group, an alliance of nine “best of class” regional construction-related companies in 19 cities that have joined together to serve the needs of national clients. Construction is also in progress on a 51,200-square-foot technical operations center in Indianapolis.
