January - 2007KRUSINSKI COMPLETES FACILITIES FOR AMB PROPERTY Krusinski Construction Co. recently completed construction of two structures for AMB Property Corp., totaling 228,603 square feet, at 1355 Mt. Prospect Rd., Des Plaines, IL.
The buildings, named AMB Mt. Prospect Distribution, have been leased to BAX Global Logistics, a leading transportation and logistics company. BAX, which moved into the facilities in December, is using the 152,099-square-foot building for international distribution and the 76,504-square-foot building for domestic distribution.
Krusinski constructed the two buildings simultaneously after clearing the site of an existing facility. The company also completed all site work, and reengineered the existing utilities. Roxbury Ln., which previously came to a dead end near the site, was extended, and a storm trap system was installed underneath the parking lot.
The buildings are located on 13.13 acres with parking for 266 cars. The domestic facility has 48 exterior docks and two drive-in doors; the international facility has 33 exterior docks and one drive-in door.
Krusinski previously built a 131,728-square-foot building for AMB Property Corporation at 1800 Nicholas Boulevard in Elk Grove Village, 100 percent leased by Schenker Inc.
Michael J. Metz was the project executive for Krusinski, and Ralph Colmenares was the senior project superintendent. The architect was Julius Kwasek of Inverness-based Kwasek Architects.
